I had lunch today with my beautiful wife, and we went to Hyde Park Grill here in Austin. I had The Horseshoe: "a half pound of choice brisket burger grilled to order, served on Texas toast, buried in Hyde Park fries and topped with cheese sauce." The Hyde Park fries are, I think, batter dipped, and the cheese was more of a thin queso, so it had a southwestern bite to it. Also came with diced tomatoes and green onions and some sauce I didn't bother with. I didn't take a picture of it because, seriously, who the f**k takes a picture of their food?
This is
not
my picture. See above. Nor is it a picture of my beautiful wife.

Your wife has other qualities I assume?

Let's just say that I didn't marry her 24 years ago for her French fries and cheese sauce.

I recommend a good Cabernet. Cuts through the fatty savory elements and helps clear out your arteries when you're done. You'll probably need the whole bottle on both counts, tho.
Damn, that's ridiculous.

Hello fellow Texan! I've been on a breakfast for lunch kick lately, so I made huevos rancheros con papas today. ^_^ I'm still pleasantly in food coma-ville. Your lunch sounds fabulous.

Mmm, huevos rancheros. Where in Texas are you?

I prefer Freebirds for my ridiculously overstuffed burritos. But my boys love some Chipotle.

Somewhere south of Austin. ^_^

There's a lot of Texas south of Austin, but I appreciate your reticence. I say Austin, but I'm not actually IN Austin. Naming the city is close enough!
